A contemporary song by two different artists to enjoy... "Shima Uta", literal translation: "island song." The first artist is Rimi Natsukawa (夏川 りみ), an Okinawan folk singer who performs Ryukyuan music. Her genre is sometimes referred to as "Okinawan folk" -- blending traditional Okinawan music forms with modern elements, giving her a unique sound.
