OK, what is soooo special event about this
function? What makes this event
TRULY standout? What's in it for YOU?
In a word: LOTS!
*This event has some special activities ~
mini-course sessions and special presentations
(including showing our Brat movie, "Brats:
Our Journey Home AND having producer/
director Donna Musil present for a special
discussion session)
*You're going to get introduced to some
WONDERFUL Brats who are looking forward
to meeting and getting to know you!
*A VERY WARM welcome awaits you for
the time you show up!
*FUN evening activities are planned that
are going to get you meeting GREAT Brats
(like YOURSELF!), get you involved,
laughing and even dancing!
*We're taking over a former disco and
making it into a 'Teen Club experience!'
*You won’t be among strangers! Because
much of our backgrounds reads like a similar
story as Military or Overseas Brats or Educators,
so you will have a LOT in common with everyone
else attending. You are going to have more in
common with these people and will be
able to connect with them IN MINUTES than
some of the neighbors who have lived around
you for years.
*Since you live in the DFW area, it will be
VERY ECONOMICAL to attend because
you don't have to travel far to it and you don't
have to stay at the hotel. How convenient is
that for you?!
*We have a door prize contest and exhibition
where you could win some GREAT prizes!
*This function is partially commercially
underwritten, which means we can keep
registration fees economical.
*This COULD be a life-changing experience for
you!
*This event will open the door for you to LOTS
of opportunities!
*What begins as 'hellos' turn into 'Brugs'
(Brat hugs) by the end of the event!
* * * * * * *
Time to talk NUMBERS of people
now!
Just how popular is this event?
OK, where was this event last year,
and how many came? It was held
Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 2008 at the Hyatt Dulles
in Herndon, VA, with 161 participants
representing 96 schools covering those
who were associated with the schools
from the 1940's through the 2000's.
How many people try to attend
this event annually? We have 60
excited Brats who have been to this
event over the years who can't wait for
it to begin!
Since 1987 (when this event started):
-1,510 have participated representing
more than 300 schools, covering those
associated with the schools from the
1940's through the 2000's;
-185 have attended more than one
of these "gatherings;'
-60 have been to five or more of
these special OVERSEAS BRATS functions;
-27 have returned to 10 or more
"gatherings;"
-2 have been to 20 or more of these
annual events.

OVERSEAS BRATS

“Dallas-Fort Worth Gathering,”

October 15-18, 2009

Southfork Hotel – Plano, TX

5/14/09 Update

*************************

Wow!

Interest is starting to REALLY GROW with this unique Brat event!

In this update:

1. The FUN that will happen!

2. How MEANINGFUL will this experience be for you?

3. Making your “gathering” affordable.

4. Registration.

5. Southfork Hotel.

6. Special situation with our hospitality room.

7. The numbers (as of 5/14/09).

* * * * * *

1. The FUN that will happen!

*This begins when you arrive at our registration area!

Brats will be waiting to WARMLY WELCOME YOU and

usher you into our hospitality suite!

*Thursday night’s dutch treat dinner, will be at a Tex/Mex

themed restaurant. Besides a good, reasonably cost meal,

you’ll get to enjoy GREAT Brat company (this will remind

you of that school luncheon room experience from years ago!)

and kick up your heels to some dancing!

*Once we return to the hospitality suite (a former disco

we are turning into a Teen Club!) we’ll introduce you to more

people, and do some more partying!

*Friday night’s dinner (off site) we’re still working on,

but one thing we do promise is FUN!

*Friday evening after dinner, it’s Brat karaoke time

~ full of FUN, partying and dancing with your new Brat

friends!

*Your Saturday includes a scavenger hunt where you

get the signatures (and some goodies!) from our sponsors

and be eligible for great door prizes later!

*Saturday night will be a highlight with a banquet and

a dance ~ more FUN!

2. How MEANINGFUL will this experience be for you?

**You are about to meet some GREAT people who

share 80% of your heritage even though you have never meet

them! These Brats who are looking forward to meeting YOU!

**This is a FABULOUS networking opportunity!

**A key here is: the MORE time you can spend at this

event, the MORE meaningful it will be for you!

**This begins before the event, because you have a number

of updates coming to you that will share about our activities!

**We are lining up some informal sessions on topics that

mean something to us. Included in these are a special

presentation of the Brat movie, “Brats: Our Journey Home”

complete with a discussion session with the producer/director

Donna Musil!

**One indicator how MEANINGFUL an event this is?

There are 60 Brats who attend this event annually who

CAN’T WAIT to come! This is soooo meaningful to them

that many will come in the Wednesday night (October 14)!

**This event could be a life-changing event for you!

**Each year we have some kind of ‘theme’ and this year

it’s: “I’ll Be Home For Christmas (with my Brat Friends in

the Teen Club).” We will not be celebrating the religious theme

of Christmas. Instead it will be the over all happy holiday

feeling of being with family and friends ~ meaning here, our

Brat friends ~ YOU!

3. Making your “gathering” affordable.

Here’s what we can do to make this event very affordable

for you!

*Register before October 1 and save $s! Registration

fees are LOWER than previous years!

*Hotel room rate is the LOWEST we’ve had in a while.

Get a friend to share and that will make it even MORE

affordable for you! And if you live in the DFW area,

you don't have to stay at the hotel in order to attend

this event!

*For those flying in, GREAT fares await you! Dallas-

Fort Worth is an American Airlines hub and Dallas Love

Field is a Southwest Airlines destination.

*Transportation to offsite venues will be provided, so

you’ll save o
