I've been in Afghanistan theater for almost 4 months now and I thought alot about back home how we enjoy our freedom with our families/friends. I have made friends with so many people here from different camp. The other day I was having MRE for lunch on HLZ waiting to catch my flight on Chinook back to my home base in Sharana, I started to think about the soldier how they are going thru life at Afghanistan and believe me It's not like what U saw on TV. At small camp, They have corns, beans, and Tortilla for dinner. I ate what they had too. Latrine is not like luxury here either and so are the cold shower @ 20F. No PX, Movie Theater, and stuff they used to enjoy back home. Next time you see a soldier back in your home town, please Thank them for serving our great nation. To all the US Army, Marines, Navy, Air force and Reserve I salute you!

August 17, 2009. I'm taking time off from flying during the next week. this past month have been real busy than usual. I hop on the Blackhawk and it was a ride that i'll never forget. we had rockets just about everyday @ warrior. I had to find the right time to used the restroom/shower and that was their praying time. Sleeping in the connex was not even safe at all. I usually leave the door open so I could hear incoming and sleep with my boots on. The camp was about Kadena HS/Football fields combine. DFAC was ok, but Polish troops takes and eat like there was no tomorrow. The following week I went to Ghazni PRT to reprogram handheld radio for the whole base and there was copter flying in/out all night.... The next morning I saw about 20 men handcuff/blindfolded by US/Polish military walking passed me on my way to shower. they were mostly young men that were captured. I was able to catch up on my sleep for the next 3 night. The election is about to start and RAMADAN is next week. I really could have some TACO BELL right now, but that is just a dream. I can't wait for my R&R coming up....

I used to think Iraq was worsed than Afghanistan, but after being here in Iraq in my own airconditioned Chu, working in a palace, deciding whether or not I'm going to chose to eat healthy or bad (with fries and icecream) .... and getting in on the scoop on what the other sandbox is like, there's no complaints on this end. Thanks for sharing your experience and serving our Soldiers, we depend greatly on your ninja IT skills.

July 15, 2009: We are now in the middle of another transition on Afghan war. I don't know how long I'll be here, but I will "go with the flow". The weather up here is hot and we are getting more mortar attack in some of camp in my areas. I still have to go repeak the satellite disk/communication at site that been hit. They all depend on communication to support our soldiers. I try not to think much or fear of what going on here. Flying from base to base on the "Presidential" with no escort sometime makes me nervous. I try not to think about it. I just want to focus on completing my mission and contract here. I will not fear about things that I cannot control. As long as I can make one soldier or person happy, then this really makes my day. KBR is not going to be here about after a year. They lost the contract and 6o% of US citizen will/will not be offered a job. i just want to finish my contract. I will update whenever I get a chance. this summer will be hard traveling around Afghan, but I have a mission to complete.

Yesterday is GONE
Today is here, so you better enjoyed
Cause tomorrow may never com..........

July 2, 2009: Today was a busy day for me. I couldn't really get a good night sleep yet! We have 8 people sharing 1 hut. You could hear them snoring LOUD!!. I had to put some ear plug on. The sunrise here at 04:15am and the temp drop in 30F to 90F in 4 hrs. It get to 100+ and feels like someone lit a lighter next to my skins. The funny thing is that u don't know what kind of weather ur gonna get by the hrs. At 7,800ft above sea level, breathing get difficult sometime here. U never leave ur buddy "Water Bottle" ur always dehydrating. And.. the more u drink....u better have a good bladder. I really hate going to Port-A-Potty here, cuz it fills up FAST!!!and smells real BAD! I have not try it yet. U really get a good work out here cuz u walk and walk and walk... The Bootleg movies here are $2 and PX is uhhh..can't really complain. I really enjoy this job and being around the soldiers. We would have Poker tournament in the DFAC just to kill some time. Its spreading to different camp. I u got Capt./Major playing. We just got Pizza Hut and BK is coming to Sharana! I really miss Taco Bell. Oh well, its better than having MRE. Peace til next time.
